Avignon was a great production centre for tinctorial plants and was named “City of Madder”. Today several companies add value to tinctorial resources, a lot of craftpersons are mainly working in the field of cosmetics and textile dyeing.
Avignon is also a reference site for the “French Tech Valley” strongly linked to the regional research centres of Provence.
